Web Changes

This is where we'll announce the most recent additions to our web site. If you've visited us before and want to know what's changed, take a look here first.

New Additions

These are the stories we've issued over the last year.

  • November, 2001 -- The birth of Yang Fan
  • July, 2002 -- North to not quite Alaska
  • January, 2003 -- Social at Gary Helms
  •  February, 2003 -- Added a Bulletin board to website - Members Only
  •  April, 2003 -- Publication and announcement of SCOAA at Pacific Sail-EXPO in Oakland on Gary Helm's Seawind 1000 show cat. Thanks, Gary, for letting me pass out the flyers. Met some of the existing owners in the Bay and possible future owners.  Looking forward to exchanging ideas for improvements and gadgets that other people have added.
  •  April, 2004 -- If you haven't visited the Pacific Sail Expo, you missed a nice time to meet other fellow Seawind owners. Again visiting was Joe from KatieKat with whom myself and others had very good discussions about the Seawind 1000.  A new visitor was Rory, who was visiting as representative of the Seawind factory and who is the North American liaison for Seawind stationed in Toronto, Canada.  Rory, is interested to bring Seawind owners together and possibly meet in August.  More about this later.
  •  July 2004 -- Seawind introduces a new model in the Seawind line, the Seawind 1160, during the Sydney Boatshow.
  •  Time has come to meet.  Gary and Rory are organizing a get together on August 7th at Treasure Island. There will be several owners, some with their boat, Gary, and Rory present.  For details contact Gary Helms.
Treasure Island is located between San Francisco and Oakland and can be reached via the Bay Bridge. Access to the marina is via cardkey only. For more info about this place go to http://www.tiyc.org or http://www.almar.com . Unfortunately, due to some misunderstanding during arrangement this meeting came to some early end when the visiting cats were asked to leave.
  •  August 2004 -- I had the pleasure to visit a member of the MASF in Miami where they had modified (stretched) three Seawind 1000 by adding a scoop extension to the stern. Among the benefits are, longer waterline, increased stability, easier on-off from dingy, additional buoyancy chamber in stern, and better looks.  More details here
  •  September Oakland Fall Boat show
  •  The time has come.  Yang Fan is in the yard for fitting the scoop extensions. More details as they progress. Extension of Yang Fan has been completed.  See hull 109 for details in the owners section.
  •  Spring Boat show in Oakland
